Cubs' Utility Player Delivers Game-Winning Hit
In a thrilling turn of events at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night, Chicago Cubs utility player David Bote stepped up to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning and the bases loaded. Facing Washington Nationals reliever Dan Hudson, Bote launched a towering grand slam over the left-center field wall, sending the Cubs to a 6-2 victory and sending the crowd into a frenzy.
The walk-off grand slam was Bote's first of the season and the first by a Cubs player since Anthony Rizzo in 2017. It also marked the first time the Cubs had won a game on a walk-off grand slam since Carlos Peña in 2009.
